Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) visited AMT at ASEAN Secretariat on 15 May 2023
HUST delegates: Professor Zhou Liping (Dean of School of International Education) and Ms. Yan Wei (Director of International Admission and Cooperation Office, School of International Education) visited ASEAN-China Cooperation Fund Management Team (AMT) at ASEAN Secretariat on 15 May 2023.
AMT warmly welcomed HUST delegation and Team leader of AMT, Director Huang Cheng briefed on ACCF and the key projects of ASEAN-China cooperation supported by the ACCF in recent years, while Professor Zhou introduced in detail to AMT the enrollment for the ASEAN-China Young Leaders Scholarship (ACYLS) Programme, the education and training of international students, as well as the participation in ASEAN-China cooperation and joint research, etc.
ACYLS is the flagship brand program funded by ACCF, which is specifically designed to further promote humanistic exchanges and people-to-people ties between China and ASEAN countries. It is known that over the past three years; the HUST has enrolled 22 students from Thailand, Indonesia, and other ASEAN member states. As a high-end talent training program, the ACYLS has supported students from ASEAN in a wide range of fields, and its influence continues to grow while playing an important role and has become an important carrier for strengthening cooperation and enhancing friendship between China and ASEAN.
AMT and HUST both sides agreed to strengthen communication and collaboration in the future, promote resources and experiences sharing between the two sides, carry out practical cooperation in talent training, people-to-people exchange, and think-tank support, and make positive contributions to promoting humanistic exchanges, deepening people-to-people friendship and enhancing ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic relationship.
