On March 13, 2024, the opening ceremony of the workshop titled “Enhancing the Understanding of the Implementation of Tariff Differentials under the RCEP Agreement” was held in Shanghai, China.

A total of 79 government officials and think tank experts from RCEP member countries attended the workshop, representing sectors such as trade and customs. Spanning three days, from March 13 to 15, the workshop facilitated extensive discussions on Article 2.6, “Tariff Differences,” of the RCEP Agreement. Participants exchanged insights and shared their implementation experiences, aiming to boost the capability of ASEAN countries to effectively utilize the agreement. This collaborative effort is expected to further promote regional economic integration.

Funded by the China-ASEAN Cooperation Fund (ACCF), this workshop marks the first RCEP economic and technical cooperation project undertaken by the contracting parties since the agreement came into effect.
