This site visit is one of the activities of the project “Utilisation of Solar PV to Support the Green Economic Recovery in ASEAN Post Covid-19”, whose overall objective is to build on the talent pool with solar and PV+ expertise for ASEAN and promote the new business models of combing solar PV projects with other sectors like fishery, agriculture, and buildings with larger profit and lower costs, thus contributing the RE development and green economic recovery in the region by facilitating the development of solar PV.

The project also aims to give a reference to the policies and best practices on PV+ utilization for policymakers within the region.

The whole project comprises two parts, capacity building, and joint study. The capacity building aims to develop a talent pool in solar sector and promote exchanges among officials and experts of ASEAN and China. It will focus on the development path of solar PV in ASEAN and introduce the development experience in China with an emphasis on the innovative business model of PV+. The joint study aims to provide a clear pathway of action for ASEAN to develop solar, taking the insights of PV+ implementation in ASEAN and China.

To accommodate the capacity building and development of a joint study of Solar PV in ASEAN, the project conduct two times Solar Farm site visits in Indonesia to get some insight and added knowledge from the operation of the Solar farm.

The 1st visit was in Vena Energy Indonesia – Likupang Solar Farm held on 28 March – 1 April 2022. While the 2nd visit of the project is to Komodo Water – Papagarang Clean Drinking Water and PLN UIW NTT – Papagarang, Messah and Seraya Marranu Solar Farms.
